How Do I Meet People & Where Can I Serve?

A great way to meet people is by either getting involved in a ministry (see Ministry Opportunities below) or by joining a small group The following are some of the small groups we currently offer.
Small Group Bible Studies…. Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies that consist of anywhere from four to ten people. Feel free to jump into any of the following small groups!
• Women’s Bible Study – every Tuesday @ 3:30 p.m. in the church library
• Men’s Bible Study – every 4th Thursday @ 8:00 a.m. in the church fellowship hall
• Mixed Adult Bible Study – every Sunday morning @ 9:00 a.m. in the large classroom

Ministry Opportunities…

Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as welcoming visitors, to using their skills to build walls & lay flooring tiles.  Our church desires to have team members rather than spectators.  So, whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church…
Do you play an instrument? Do you sing? Do you have a desire to use your musical talents and gifts to glorify God?
We have room for worship leaders and piano players (and/or other instruments) who have a desire to be part of the Madras Christian Church family & who want to honor God with your talents.
Child Care / Nursery Attendants
We provide a CPR licensed staff member to work in the Nursery every Sunday, and to help support her, we have a team of volunteer nursery attendants who have a heart to nurture and keep these li’l ones safe. Attendants must be 18 or over and pass a background check.  Please connect with the secretary or email if interested.
Mission Outreach Madras Christian Church supports several organizations & missions around the world. We support these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. The five missionaries we support are located in three countries—Zimbabwe, Central Asia & India.  Please see our bulletin board for more details and updates on specific missionaries we support (we want to help keep them safe by identities online here).
Each Sunday after the worship service, we have a time of fellowship with refreshments.  This is a great opportunity to meet & greet our visitors and to fellowship with one another on a weekly basis.   We ask volunteers to sign up to bring a snack… something simple like cookies or a snack bread, etc.  Church provides the coffee and water.
